This policy describes how the KSCAA mobile application ("the App"), operated by the Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association® ("KSCAA", "we"), collects, uses and protects the personal data of its members. The App is available only to members pre-registered by KSCAA; there is no public sign-up.
Data we collect
The App stores and processes the membership information you or KSCAA provide:
- Identity: name, ICAI membership number, KSCAA membership number, father's/spouse's name, date of birth, blood group, profile photo
- Contact: mobile number, landline, email address, communication address (including city and PIN code)
- Professional: areas of expertise you choose to list
- Technical: a push-notification device token for your phone (Firebase Cloud Messaging), issued when you log in
The App does not collect your location, contacts, browsing history or advertising identifiers, and contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
How we use it
- Membership services — maintaining your membership record and letting you view and correct it. Changes you save in the App update KSCAA's official membership records.
- Member directory — if you have consented to directory visibility, your name, photo, city and expertise are visible to other logged-in members. Your mobile number and email are shown only to members you have accepted a connection with. You can withdraw directory visibility in your profile at any time.
- Login — one-time passwords are delivered to your registered mobile number via WhatsApp.
- Notifications — connection requests and responses trigger push notifications to your device.
- Events — event listings and ticketing are provided through kscaa.com; payments are handled by the kscaa.com website, not by the App.
Service providers
We use the following processors solely to operate the App: Google Firebase (push notifications), Cloudflare R2 (profile photo storage), and the Meta WhatsApp Business API via our messaging partner (OTP delivery). All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
Retention & deletion
Your data is retained while you remain a KSCAA member. You may request correction of your data in the App, or request deletion of your App account and data as described on our account & data deletion page. Core membership-register records are governed by the association's rules and applicable law and may be retained after App-data deletion.
